Yet nature is not always given the consideration it deserves when we plan projects, build infrastructure, make choices in our own homes and communities, or make decisions that shape our future.

The result can be the loss of natural places, negative impacts on wildlife and resources, and costs that are often left for citizens and future generations to address.
