2026 Nature Nova Scotia Conservation Award

The Nature Nova Scotia Conservation Award was established in 2023 to be given annually to one or more individuals or a group for significant nature conservation efforts in the province.

The Nature Nova Scotia Award Committee, appointed by the Board of Directors and consisting of current Nature Nova Scotia members, evaluates nominations for the award and selects a winner in best alignment with the purpose of the award, detailed below. Please use the form linked below to make your nomination by providing us with your nominee(s) name, contact information, and details of their achievements.

Purpose of the Award:
To recognize individuals or groups who have made an outstanding contribution to nature conservation in Nova Scotia. Such contribution is characterized by undertaking conservation tasks of significance in Nova Scotia, or by outstanding efforts in public education, awareness, and engagement with nature, or by exceptional efforts in lobbying government to protect and preserve the nature of Nova Scotia. The areas of contribution will be focused on, but not limited to, the issues of: Wildlife, Sustainable Forestry, Urban Nature, Species at Risk, and Protected Areas.

Eligibility:
Anyone except for Nature Nova Scotia board members may be nominated. The Award may be given posthumously if the nominee’s conservation contributions and activities are still relevant and important to present day conservation issues. Nominations for the award can be made by any individual or group in Nova Scotia.
