2026 Halifax Bird Week

What is Bird Friendly Halifax?

We are the Bird Friendly Halifax coalition, a group of environmental organizations, researchers, citizen scientists, and bird lovers working to make HRM a friendlier place for our avian neighbours. We meet bi-monthly to work on ways to reduce impacts to wild birds through policy change and education.

What is Halifax Bird Week?

Bird Week is seven days of bird walks and education events about birds across HRM. Volunteer leaders and helpers lead guided, beginner birding walks in all 16 HRM districts. We invite councillors and their constituents to join these bird walks, discuss local bird conservation, and engage with the community.
