The Celebration of Nature is the annual gathering for naturalists in Nova Scotia and symposium for all things nature! It’s also our AGM.
This year, we’re headed to the North shore of the Minas Basin with friends from the Cliffs of Fundy Geopark. We have a weekend full of interesting talks and field trips planned, plus a Friday social, raffle draw, the presentation of the 2025 Conservation award, and, as per tradition, Nature Nova Scotia’s AGM on the Sunday morning.

Kids Events and Activities Brought to you by the Young Naturalist Club
The Young Naturalists Club (YNC) connects youth with nature through hands-on natural history exploration, science, and creativity. During the Celebration of Nature Weekend, YNC will offer a variety of interactive activities for youth and families, including wildlife observation and nature-themed activities and games. Participants can explore natural history stations, take part in a kid-friendly birding walk, join a BioBlitz to document local wildlife, and engage in nature journaling. With opportunities for discovery, creativity, and outdoor fun, the weekend will provide a meaningful way for young people to connect with the natural world.

From wildlife observation to nature challenges and craft-based conservation projects, the event will provide a casual and engaging environment where participants can explore, learn, and connect with nature.

- The event will begin with a birding walk for kids, giving them a chance to spot and learn about local birds. Afterward, youth can take part in a mix of hands-on nature activities, from documenting wildlife in a BioBlitz to getting creative with nature journaling. With opportunities for exploration, observation, and fun, the morning will offer a relaxed and engaging way to connect with the outdoors.
Registration
You may register for the whole symposium (which includes all meals including the Saturday night banquet) or you can register for just a banquet ticket.
Please note that a block of rooms has been set aside at the Debert Hospitality Centre but that booking accommodations is up to the individual naturalist and not included in the symposium ticket.
Your symposium ticket gives you access to all Celebration activities and includes all meals (but not alcoholic drinks available during Friday social hours). Each afternoon gives naturalists the opportunity to attend one of three field trips. Registration for field trips opens Friday night at the social hours venue and is first-come-first-served.
